Quick Start - Add a Role

Here are the key steps for adding a role. See also Quick Start - Give Users Access to Stratum.Viewer.

Click the Role option in the Admin Utilities view group.

Click New newbuttonoff.png  in the Role window to access the Role Maintenance window.

Specify a name, the server for the database to be associated with the role, and the database.

The Attributes and Measures tabs will be populated with the dimensions and measures from the selected database.

Use the Attributes tab to determine the dimension members that users with this role will be able to access.

You can give access to all, none, or some members (using a member list or user list).

Use the Measures tab to determine the measures that users with this role will be able to access. Use the Read and Update checkboxes to set up read and update access for measures.

Use the User Profiles tab to select a user profile or user profile group for the role.
