Administrators can edit the descriptions of calculated
measure items via the Stratum Glossary. The default description assigned
to a calculated measure item is its name. Descriptions in the glossary
with an Edit icon next
to them can be edited. Click the icon to access an Edit Description window.
Custom descriptions help users better understand what the data represents in their views, how calculated data was calculated, the source for data, and how one piece of data relates to other data in the Stratum Data Model.
1. Click the More Info icon in the view for the calculated measure item.
Note: If the calculated
measure item is one you just added, save the view first and then you’ll
be able to change the calculated measure item description. If you don’t
see More Info icons in the view, click the More Info toggle for the view to enable
them.
2. Click the Edit icon next to the calculate measure
item’s existing description in the Stratum Glossary that opens.
3. In the Edit Description window, enter the custom description and click the Save button.
4. {Optional} To see a list of
all calculated measure items in the view and edit their descriptions,
click the Details toggle
in the Stratum Glossary. Then click the list icon
for the “Also see other Calculated Measure Items” section. A list
of the view’s calculated measure items displays. Use their Edit icons
to customize their descriptions.
5. Click OK to close the Stratum Glossary and return to the view.
