The Stratum.Viewer Update Plan Process updates the Stratum.Connector for Viewer Analysis Services cube and the Stratum.Connector for Viewer database based on the user’s planning updates.
The Update Plan process updates write back partitions in the Analysis Services database. When a view is executed, the data returned includes the data from the cube as well as the writeback partitions. The Update Plan process also updates writeback tables in the Stratum.Connector for Viewer database. The writeback tables can be used to update the Stratum Storage database.
The view shown in the following example has a few planning changes in it. The changes display in a different font and format than other data in the view, as determined by a Planning Update Format setting in Stratum.Viewer.
Here is the view after the Update Plan Process has been initiated. The refreshed view now displays the data in the same font and format as all other data in the grid. Other users who run this view and whose role gives them access to the data will also see the new data.
